Hello gorgeous girls, I hope you had a relaxing yet fun Halloween weekend! I’m still a tad hungover from having a girls night last night in Toronto, so I feeeel you. It feels like its 2am and its not even 10pm here.๐Ÿ™ˆย But even though I’m tired af, its not even close to bedtime because Iย have to pack for my buying trip! I’m excited to leave this cold weather behind for a week and buy clothes in a sunny state!

Since taking over as Manager at the boutique I buy for, I’ve been learning very quickly how to prioritize my time and how important staying organized is. ESPECIALLY in the morning. In this blog post, I’m going to share some of my tips for having a productive morning & ultimately starting your day off the right way.
Do you ever feel like some mornings are just a lot rougher than others? You sleep through your alarm, and then you feel super rushed because you don’t know what to wear, what to eat and you can’t find your keys. Well, if this sounds like a regular occurrence for you, its your lucky day.

1. Avoid making decisions

For smooth sailing in the mornings, reduce the number of choices and decisions you have to make to ZERO. I like to make my morning decisions the night before. What clothes to wear, what to eat for breakfast, I map out any errands I have to run before or after work and so on.

2. Wake up leisurely

Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier than usual. This way, you don’t have to jump out of bed and rush through your morning. You can begin your morning by laying in bed, listening to music or reading a chapter of a book. These few minutes in bed are all yours.

3. Wake up to sunshine

Go to sleep with your blinds or curtains halfway open. The natural light of the rising sun will send a signal to your brain to wake up. When I do this, I find that I wake up more energized and I’m not as groggy. When the alarm goes off, you’ll already feel half awake.

4. Exercise or Stretch

A great trick to eliminate early morning grogginess is to stretch when you wake up. This gets blood flowing and can help you feel limber and energetic as you’re starting your day. If you have time, getting a little workout in is always a wonderful way to start your day!

5. Listen to a Podcast or Music

Listen to a podcast while doing your makeup or listen to your favourite playlist while making coffee. This puts you in a good mood & the right frame of mind to start your day!

6. Make your bed

I don’t want to sound like your mother but seriously, make your bed. I learned from Tony Robbins that those who do their chores and keep their living space tidy tend to make more money.ย For example, those who make their bed in the morning are up to 206.8 percent more likely to be millionaires. It puts your mind into a productive mindset for the day!

7. Drink water

Drinking a glass or a bottle of water in the morning before you’ve had your breakfast is good for your metabolism and your skin. I try to bring a reusable water bottle with me every day to work. I seriously notice my skin starts breaking out or looking dull when I haven’t had enough water!

8. Have a good breakfast

Whether that means having a cup of coffee and croissants, a smoothie bowl, or a glass of orange juice and pancakes.. it doesn’t really matter what you have for breakfast as long as it is something (somewhat) healthy & it tastes yummy! Try to think about what you want for breakfast the night before so you don’t have to waste time figuring that out in the morning.

9. Take a shower/wash your face

A quick way to wake up and start your day off right is to hop in the shower. If you don’t have time, washing your face is the second best option and you should be washing your face every morning anyways!

10.ย Look good, feel good

Outfits – I’m a much nicer person when I like my outfit.๐Ÿ˜‰ย One of my favourite parts of the day is getting dressed! Like I said before, I usually plan my outfit the night before so in the morning its easy peasy lemon squeezey. I look on Pinterest or at fall style blog posts if I need some outfit inspo and go from there.
Hair & Makeup – I don’t like to wear too much makeup to work, so that part doesn’t take up too much of my time. I SOMETIMES do my hair if I have time and want to put in the effort, but I usually just throw my hair into a top knot or braid(s) and I’m good to go.
